Routt County, CO - The Routt County Economic Development Partnership (RCEDP) has been awarded a $140,900 Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI) grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA). This funding will bolster RCEDP's Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center, fostering a more vibrant and resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem across the Yampa Valley.

The REDI grant will fuel the development of the High Country Accelerator, an incubator program designed to nurture new and emerging businesses. The grant will also support the creation of a mentorship network, facilitate connections with capital and investors, and enable various community-building initiatives. Educational programs and skill development workshops on business formation, planning, and expansion will be offered, providing comprehensive support to local businesses and entrepreneurs at all stages.

RCEDP anticipates the creation of 40 new jobs through startup businesses, contributing to industry diversification and economic sustainability as the Yampa Valley navigates the transition away from coal-fired power generation. These businesses will have a positive ripple effect, supporting the local economy and diversifying the regional job market through supply chains, contractors, banks, and spending across the region.

“Thanks to the steadfast support of our partners, we are able to secure competitive grants like this and provide much-needed support to local entrepreneurs and existing businesses,” said John Bristol, Executive Director of RCEDP. “As a 501c(3) nonprofit, we always invite businesses and individuals to join us and consider supporting our work.”

RCEDP is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization that relies on partners, donors, and others to help support and secure grants for its community-driven initiatives. The organization welcomes contributions from businesses and individuals to further its programs.
