Routt County has secured a $3 million federal grant to advance infrastructure work at the Yampa Valley Regional Airport’s Aviation Business Park, a project expected to boost economic growth and create jobs across Northwest Colorado, according to a statement released on Friday.
The funding, awarded by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration, will go toward building a new taxi lane, installing utility systems and preparing parcels for future aviation and commercial tenants.
The grant application was a collaborative effort between Routt County, the town of Hayden and the Yampa Valley Electric Association, with key support from Routt County Economic Development Partnership and the Northwest Colorado Development Council.
